Sprouting Daffodils

Day 10

Enjoyed another unseasonably warm afternoon today walking around the land looking for something to shoot.  These little daffodils are a bit confused!  This weather has us all a bit perplexed, a year ago we were in the middle of a blizzard!  The cardinal picture below was taken 1 year ago, quite a difference!

Bode & Ally Headed to Texas

Day 9

What an absolutely beautiful day!  Headed straight home after work to play with the dogs and get some shots of Bode and Ally before they head off for Texas.  Yes, our dogs get to winter in Texas and we get to spend a week with them.  What's wrong with that?  Sure going to miss them but they will get to do what they like most!  Get ducks!

Saturday Morning Fun

Day 7
Saturday Mornings are now fun filled with exciting games of basketball!  Watching my grandson Carson play has brought back all those wonderful memories of the days in the gym watching my children play.  How I have missed the days of traveling here and there, seeing the kids make that great shot, stopping the opponent from making that great shot, the roar from the crowd when this happens, but most of all the excitement and joy in the kids eyes!  All of this along with the bumps, bruises and wiping away the tears of disappointment make up some of life's most joyous times.

Life Happens

                                                                         Day 6

Ok, on my way home from work I stopped by to visit the Eagles again.  I am obsessed with these creatures, they give me a sense of peace and tranquillity when I'm watching them.
Photo #2 reflects the type of day I had yesterday afternoon which extended into today.  So glad the weekend is here!!

A Foggy Morning

                                                                           Day 5

A mystically beautiful fog blanketed the fields this morning.  A perfect photo opp I would probably have missed out on if my friend Sarah hadn't posted on my wall.  Thank you Sarah for mentioning the beautiful cloud covering the earth.  I was curled up on the couch with a cup of coffee planning my attack on the house.  Instead I grabbed my camera gear and jumped in the car headed out to find something to shoot.
As you can see I couldn't decide which photo I wanted to blog so here are 4.  I guess this is my blog and I can make up the rules :)

Red Feathered Friend

Day 4

Today I ventured out our backdoor, camera in hand, and captured shots of the beautiful cardinals that feast at our bird feeder.  There are birds of all kinds that take turns at the feeder but the cardinals outnumber the others by far.  David works at keeping the feeders full, we both enjoy watching and snapping photos of them.  Still hoping for a snow, I love even more to see the brilliant red birds against a backdrop of white.

"Cow Eggs"

Driving home from work today thinking of what I would like to photograph I decided to go the "back way" and see the Eagles.  Mr Eagle was perched on a limb close to his nest so I gathered my gear and prepared for a great shoot!  Much to my despair he turned around on his perch and flew south before I could capture his majestic beauty.  So I waited around awhile hoping he would return with a fish or rodent in his talons.  During the wait I captured a few shots of the landscape in the area.  This one caught my eye.  Even in the dead of winter in Mid-Missouri there is a beautiful golden glow in this field.  The "cow eggs" appeared to be aligned in a row and there was a mystical feeling beyond in the forest.  Do I see Bigfoot peering through the trees?  Getting closer..

Eagles Nest

Day #2, I returned to see the Eagle Family in hopes of getting a really great shot for my blog.  There was one Eagle sitting majestically on his nest appearing to enjoy the warm rays of sun on this beautiful day.
I did not see the other adult eagle or the chicks, I imagine they were out hunting for dinner. I never get tired of watching these beautiful creatures and hope to someday get a shot of one in flight or coming in for a landing on the nest.  I must go back and sit, and wait....

Reflections

                                             "Reflections"

Photo number one of my 365 day personal photography challenge.  I love to photograph the beauty of nature.  My quest started out in search of a critter...a squirrel, a rabbit, a deer or maybe even a bobcat or black bear!  (one was reported sighted in our area!)  Dave and I hiked into the woods and sat on a log quietly (lol) waiting for a creature to appear.  I thought I heard bigfoot banging on the side of a tree...hoping he would appear over the horizon of the pond dam.  Much to my despair bigfoot didn't want to be photographed and the black bears must be hibernating.
The day was cool with a crisp breeze.  The pond glistened, reflecting the branches above, a mirror image.
